CLAXTON: Betty Anne Anderson Groover, 84, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 21, 2017, after an extended illness at Camellia Health & Rehabilitation in Claxton, Georgia, under the care of Affinnis Hospice. She was born June 24, 1933, to Harley Clayton Anderson and Rebie Martin Anderson in Collins, Georgia. She was of Baptist faith and a member of Smyrna Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Willie E. Groover, Jr., son Timothy Martin Groover, brother, Calvin Everette Anderson of Reidsville, Georgia, and sisters, Edra Anderson Powell of Collins, Georgia and Glenda Anderson McDaniel of Reidsville, Georgia. Her love of flowers led her to purchase and operate the Reidsville Florist for more than 20 years with her husband and son, Willie E. Groover, Jr and Tim Groover. She loved to cook, hosting many family gatherings at their prior home on Jones Lake in Reidsville, Georgia. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and extended family. She was also an avid Atlanta Braves fan.
SURVIVORS: son, Gregory E. Groover of Rincon, Georgia; two daughters, Gina (David) Waters and Matilda (Don) Moncrief of Claxton, Georgia; sister, Lajuan Anderson Schwaltz of Metter, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Shana Elizabeth (Jerry) Kelly of Boston, Massachusetts, Heather Renee Leone (Scott) of Glennville, Georgia, Ashley Elizabeth (Derrick) Moore of Blackshear, Georgia, Lyndsey Rebecca (Caleb) Tyre of K”Ville, Georgia, David Clayton Waters of Seattle Washington, Andrew Ryan (Janice) Moncrief of Boston, Massachusetts and William Taylor Waters of Athens, Georgia; four great-grandchildren; Mackenzie Kelly, Andrew Kelly, Caroline Moncrief and Amelia Moncrief of Boston, Massachusetts, Kody Terrell, Kaleb Terrell and Kaitlyn Terrell of Glennville, Georgia and many nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: the Family will receive friends and family on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, 10:00 a.m. at Smyrna Baptist Church, Highway 250, Glennville, Georgia.
FUNERAL: Tuesday, October 24, 2017 11:00 a.m. at Smyrna Baptist Church.
