ELLABELL: Betty Stewart, 83, passed away December 29, 2023 at Bryan County Health and Rehab. She was a native of the Evergreen Community, but moved many times with her husband, Wilton and their children, to accommodate his construction career until they settled down in Ellabell, Georgia where they’ve resided since 2003.
Betty loved to cook and take care of people. Her greatest love was her family. She was a bookkeeper for many years, and her last occupation was communications at St. Josephs Hospital in Savannah for fifteen years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilton Stewart; parents, Clifford and Zada Jarriel; daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Eddie Bliss; son-in-law, Rick Camuti; brother, Roger Jarriel and sister, Ann Ray.
SURVIVORS: daughter, Denise Camuti (Jeff) of the Black Creek Community; grandchildren, Amanda (Bill) Mundt, Jeremy (Kristi) Beard, Kelly (Nick) Sikes, and Stewart (Samantha) Lewis; as well as eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
VISITATION: Tuesday, January 2, 2024; 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home.
FUNERAL: Tuesday, January 2, 2024; 2:00 p.m. at Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home.
BURIAL: Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery.
