CLAXTON: Bobby Strickland, a cherished father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. Bobby was born to the late Charlie L. and Pharisee (Brazell) Strickland on September 15, 1944 and was raised later by stepfather, R.E. Baker. Bobby spent his life building a legacy of faithful devotion, hard work, and deep love for his family. He was a Godly man of quiet strength and high integrity, known for being a safe anchor for those he loved and always putting the needs of his family first. Bobby retired from Southern Bell phone company after over 30 years of service. A true outdoorsman at heart, Bobby found immense peace and joy out on the water fishing and immersing himself in nature. He loved sharing stories, a good laugh, and the simple pleasures of life with those around him. His greatest pride, however, was his family, and the wisdom and values he instilled will live on for generations.
He is survived by his son, Shannon and Megan Strickland; his sister Rita Lake; beloved grandchildren, Charlie, Emily, Betsy, and Mac Strickland; dear nephew Brian Strickland, who was like a son to him, and adored extended family members and lifelong friends.
Bobby was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Faye Strickland, his cherished son, Kevin Strickland, brother, Douglas Strickland, precious granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Strickland, and nephew, Seth Haire.
As we gather to honor the life of Bobby Strickland, we are reminded of the lasting impact of his presence, his guidance, and his love. Because of Bobby's unwavering faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, we have hope in our eternal reunion with him. He will be sorely missed, but his legacy remains forever in our hearts.
