Byron Harris (B.C.) Cribbs

August 28, 1956 — October 4, 2025

Glennville

Glennville: Byron Harris Cribbs (B.C.) was born on August 28, 1956 to William "Harris" Cribbs and Beulah "Ilethia” Cribbs Hinson. B.C., also called Buddy growing up, passed peacefully in his home on October 4, 2025, with his loving wife Lynette by his side.

B.C. attended Claxton High School and graduated in 1974. He was a car salesman by trade and sold cars at Nesmith Chevrolet in Claxton and Franklin Chevrolet in Statesboro. He attended Calvary Baptist Church in Claxton as a young adult and Ebenezer Free Will Baptist Church in Glennville later in life. He loved to go hunting and fishing and taking others made him happy. He rarely missed a Thursday fishing with his favorite fishing buddy, his brother-in-law, Quinton Moore. He was a great storyteller and songwriter. If you knew him, you know he could come up with anything. He had a “large” sense of humor and loved to make others laugh with jokes and narratives. B.C. had a soft spot for all of his girls. He affectionately added “Mae” to all of their names. Aside from family and friends, B.C. also leaves behind his two furry buddies, Clem and Bentley. In the last couple of weeks, B.C. was under the care of Pruitt Hospice. Olivia and Vaneequa were B.C.’s favorites and took great care of him. A special thank you to them and Pruitt Hospice.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harris Cribbs and Ilethia Hinson, brother Billy Cribbs, brother-in-law Quinton Moore, and three nieces, Susan, Jennifer, and Courtney.

SURVIVORS: He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Lynette Cribbs of Glennville; his sisters Betty Akins (Fred) of Brooklet, Bobbie Jarriel (Billy) of Milledgeville, Bootsie Threatte (Joey) of Claxton; a sister-in-law, Jeri Cribbs Barker (Bill) of St. Simons, brother-in-law Steve Faison (Julia) of West Palm Beach, Fl; daughter Ashley Driggers (Michael Williams) of Cobbtown; granddaughters Kenleigh Driggers (Levi Eason) of Glennville, Madi Driggers (Eric Morgan) of Claxton, and Lainey Driggers (Aidan Sapp) of Claxton; great-granddaughters Hadley Jane Willis and Leni Faye Eason; mother-in-law Faye Burnside of Glennville; several nieces and nephews.
