Debra Draughn

CLAXTON: Debra Draughn, 67, passed away September 3, 2026, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, Georgia. She was born August 27, 1959. Debra grew up on the family farm riding horses and barrel racing in Glennville, Georgia. She graduated from Glennville High School in 1977. Debra never met a stranger. She had a vibrant personality and loved to talk and laugh. She would help anyone, with anything, anytime. Debra had a unique way with words that was fascinating to those who knew her. She also understood that her home was not on this earth but in heaven.

She was preceded in death by her parents, GW and Irma Kicklighter; husband, William “Bill” Neil Smith, Jr.; brother, Michael Kicklighter; and sister, Pam Jenkins.

SURVIVORS: her husband, Jeff Draughn; sons, William Neil Smith, III and Nathan Ryan Smith (Taylor); grandson, Oliver Smith, all of Claxton, Georgia; brother, Bruce (Doreen) Kicklighter and sister, Patsy Anderson (Kenny) of Glennville, Georgia; brother-in-law, Wesley Jenkins; sister-in-law, Tami Kicklighter, both of Claxton, Georgia; also, numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.

VISITATION: Thursday, September 10, 2026, 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home.

GRAVESIDE: will be private.
