CLAXTON: Harry L. Sonnier, 62, passed away January 25, 2013, at Evans Memorial Hospital.
The Sulphur, Louisiana native had resided in Evans County for the past 17 years. He was of Baptist faith. After he graduated from high school he went into the construction business.
Harry was preceded in death by his daughter, Brandy S. Streeter.
SURVIVORS: his wife, Doris Sonnier of Claxton; one daughter, Kimberly Dove of Austin, TX; one brother, Jerry Sonnier of Sulphur, LA; a brother and sister-in-law that raised him as their own, (the late) Clifford Sonnier and Dorothy ‘Dot’ Sonnier of Sulphur, LA; two nephews that were raised as brothers, Brent Sonnier of Houston, TX and Giles Sonnier of Lake Arthur, LA; one step-son, Mike DeLoach of Claxton; one step-daughter, Deborah Sheppard of Claxton; four sisters, Jeanette Richards, Edith Miller and Anna Lou Bonsall all of Sulphur, LA., Joyce Comeaux of New Iberia, LA; a grandson, Noah Dove, and a step-granddaughter, Madison DeLoach; and several nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: Monday, January 28, 5-8:00 p.m., at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home.
FUNERAL: Tuesday, January 29, 2013, 11:00 a.m., at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home Chapel.
BURIAL: Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
