CLAXTON: Joe D. Burnette, 78, passed away on September 25, 2023. After going to college to pursue doctorship, he immediately joined the United States Air Force and became a pilot. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for twenty years. Joe was a prayer partner, a good man and genuinely enjoyed helping others.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Betty Burnette.
SURVIVORS: wife of twenty-six years, Virginia Burnette; sons, Clint (Eva) Burnette and Trooper (Jamie) Smith; daughters, Cynthia Wiktor and Cheryl (Larry) Patterson; brother, Jim (Meme) Burnette; grandchildren, Samantha Wiktor, Tatum Wells, Jamie Patterson, Willy Patterson, Luke Burnette, Lara Burnette, Paige Smith, Parker Smith, Peyton Smith and Presley Smith.
