CLAXTON: Juanita “Neat” Burnsed, 94, passed away March 29, 2024.
She was a lifelong resident of Evans County. She was a member of the Claxton Primitive Baptist Church and a homemaker. Neat loved to garden and tend to her flowers and yard. She was a member of The Beaufort Garden Club. She served as a board member of Family and Children Services and bookkeeper for the family trucking business.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Frank and Annie Belle J. Lanier; husband, Earl L. Burnsed, Sr.; and son, Earl L. Burnsed, Jr.
SURVIVORS: son, Edwin “Spanky” (Brenda) Burnsed of Claxton, Ga.; daughter, Debbie (Andrew) Swain of Savannah, Ga.; brothers, Jim (Lib) Lanier of Claxton, Ga. and John (Barbara) Lanier of Macon, Ga.; Patricia Oglesby of Statesboro, Ga.; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: Wednesday, April 3, 2024, 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home.
FUNERAL: Wednesday, April 3, 2024, 2:00 p.m. at Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home.
BURIAL: Canoochee Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
PALLBEARERS: Forest Jones, Charles Tippins, Ken Rogers, Stan Rogers, Gary Maule and Scott Trautz.
