Loretta Barrow Scott

CLAXTON: Loretta Barrow Scott, 86, passed away February 4, 2020, at The Griffin House. She was the daughter of Leonard and Beulah Barrow. She was a lifelong native of Claxton and Evans County.
Ms. Loretta was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the George Durrence Sunday School Class and the Corinne Adams Group of the United Methodist Women. She retired from the Department of Literature and Philosophy at Georgia Southern University.
She was preceded in death by her husband, L.D. Scott, her daughter, Susan Scott and her brother, Melvin Barrow.
SURVIVORS: a son, Michael Scott; sister, Dolores Meehan of Claxton; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Barrow of Charleston, S.C.; two nieces, Karen Oates of Cobbtown and Sharon Elvins of Savannah.
