Nancy Tippins Hurst, 64, passed away January 22, 2013, at East Georgia Regional Hospital.
The Evans County native was a graduate of Claxton High School and Georgia Southern College. She was a member of the Claxton First Baptist Church and the teacher of the Fidelis Sunday School class. After graduating college she was a school teacher in Tattnall and Evans Counties. Later she went into the family banking business, Tippins Bank and Trust Co., and served as Vice-President.
Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Robert R. Tippins, Jr., and mother, Theresa Graham Tippins, a brother, Bobby Tippins and a sister, Karen Tippins Bradley.
SURVIVORS: her husband, Luther Hurst of Claxton; one son and daughter-in-law, Chas and Brittany Hendrix of Glennville; two grandchildren, Annika and Ella Grace Hendrix of Glennville; nieces and nephews, Fran (Quinn) Tanner of Claxton, Ed (DeAnna) Bradley of Claxton, David (Sabrina) Bradley of Savannah, and Wes Tippins of Claxton; great-nieces and great-nephews, Quincy and Graham Tanner, Benjamin, Genevieve and George Bradley, and Eston Bradley; and several others.
VISITATION: Thursday, January 24, 2013, 5-7:00 p.m., at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home.
FUNERAL: Friday, January 25, 2013, 11:00 a.m., at The Claxton First Baptist Church.
BURIAL: Brewton Cemetery, Hagan, GA.
