CLAXTON: Raliegh Allen Threatte lived a long, full, happy, and eventful life but his life on this earth expired on May 10, 2024 after enjoying 90 years of God’s blessings.
He was a building contractor and a collector of old and unusual things and memories. He loved picture taking, genealogy, writing poems, growing flowers and gardens, travel, camping, fishing, working for the community, decorating home and yards for Christmas (10,000 lights with Christ as theme), and visiting God’s house. He also loved revisiting his old home place. He had his own construction company (Threatte Construction Co., Inc.) for 60+ years and retired in 2012. He served on Hagan City Council for 10 years, was a Gideon for 35 years, director for Tattnall/Evans Brotherhood, secretary for Evans County Car Club. At Rehoboth Baptist Church he served as a Sunday School teacher, deacon, treasurer, and clerk. He was also a builder of custom homes and local churches. He served 8 years as Enlisted Army Reservist of our military with 2 years active duty in Captieux Ordinance Depot, Captieux, France, 1954-56. He was a member of The Sons of the American Revolution. Allen was born in the front bedroom of his family’s old home place and lived in Evans County all his life. He was married to Bennie Thompson Threatte for 67 years and lived in Hagan, Georgia for the past 61 years where they raised their five children.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bennie Lee Thompson Threatte, his parents, Kenith and Elveda Mann Threatte, two brothers, David and Daniel Threatte, his sister, Elaine Threatte Wade, a daughter, Sharese Threatte Casteen, and his granddaughter, Courtney Adriene Threatte.
SURVIVORS: He is survived by his sons Joey (Bootsie) Threatte and Gregory (Sharon) Threatte, his daughters Selina (Tim) Pewitt and Yolanda (Jami) Stuart, 12 grandchildren – Casey (Valerie) Threatte, Kenith (Eva) Threatte, Jeremy (Heather) Threatte, Kyleigh Threatte, Gabrielle (Makayla) Threatte, Dusty Brown, Jamey (Ali) Brown, Corey (Danielle) Brown, Ashley Barrow, Wesley Barrow, Morgan (Dustin) Hutto, and Megan (Ben) Helmuth. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren – Jonathan and Abbie Hutto, Cash and Cecilia Threatte, Bryden Johnson, Elijah, Hannah, and Isaiah Threatte, Olivia, Lexi and Benson Helmuth, Raleigh and Garrett Brown, Carter Barrow, and many nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: Monday, May 13, 2024, 10:00 a.m. at Rehoboth Baptist Church (the first place Allen visited after his birth on February 4, 1934), with funeral service immediately following at 11:00 a.m.
BURIAL: Bay Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. Dustin Hutto and Gary Few officiating.
PALLBEARERS: Grandsons Casey, Kenith, and Jeremy Threatte, Dusty, Jamey, and Corey Brown.
