CLAXTON/COLLINS: Rufus Sammy Hendrix, 82, passed away February 19, 2013, at Candler County Hospital.
The Evans County native was employed and retired from Savannah Glass Company in Savannah. He was an avid bowler and loved to fish.
Mr. Hendrix was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Eula Hendrix, and a sister, Carolyn King.
SURVIVORS: his wife, Mary Francis Glisson Hendrix of Collins; two sons, R. Sam (Cissy) Hendrix, Jr., of Blue Ridge, Ga., and Kelvin Mock of Savannah; two daughters, Angela (Phil) Cowart and Paulette Herrington both of Savannah; step-children, Tom and Terri Meyer of Washington State, Melanie and Robert Howard of Claxton and Carlos and Pam Glisson of Collins; one sister, Ernestine Tomlinson of Savannah; 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
