CLAXTON: Our precious daughter, Stevie Kate Lee, went home to be with Jesus on August 30, 2026, surrounded by more love than could ever be put into words. Stevie was born on July 9, 2026, weighing 4 pounds, 11 ounces and measuring 19 inches long. From the moment she entered this world, she showed us just how strong a tiny little girl could be.
Before Stevie was born, we knew our time with her may look different than we had once imagined. What we could never have known was just how much life, love and purpose God would fit into seven short weeks. Every single day we were given with her was a gift. Though she may have been tiny, her personality certainly wasn’t. Our girl knew exactly what she wanted and made sure we knew it too. Nothing made her happier than being cuddled right up on your chest, being rocked and having her little bottom patted, and we happily spoiled her every second we possibly could. Always our little wiggle worm, she was constantly trying to roll when we laid her down, covering her face with her hands and crossing those long little legs and feet that we joked might make her a basketball star one day. Some of our favorite moments were spent looking into those big, beautiful blue eyes and watching all of the silly faces and expressions she would make. Of course, no one could entertain her quite like her big brother, Kade, who could often be found serenading his baby sister with “John Deere Green.”
Stevie will always be deeply loved by her Mama and Daddy, Jena and Kolton Lee, and her big brother, Kade Lee. She is the cherished granddaughter of Stephen and Jennifer Brown of Claxton and Rodney and Vondesa Lee of Millen; and the great-granddaughter of Jimmy and Brenda Haire, Dana Brown and the late Aubrey Brown, all of Claxton, and Shelvy Jean McDaniel and the late William F. McDaniel, Sr., and the late James and Reita Waters, all of Millen; and the niece of Jamey and Haley Lee and Justin Lee, all of Millen. Stevie is loved beyond measure by many special aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
Her life may have been short by this world's measure, but it was anything but small. Stevie forever changed us. She taught us to cherish the ordinary, to find joy in one more day, and to trust God even when we can't understand His plans. Through the hardest days and the sweetest ones, He was and is still good.
From the very beginning, we prayed for a miracle and for more time with our girl, and God gave us just that. Stevie was and will always be our little miracle girl. The statistics were always stacked against her, yet time and time again, she surpassed them. Her seven beautiful weeks were a living testimony that statistics do not have the final say, God does. And through every single day He gave us with her, He showed us just how good and faithful He is. We will spend the rest of our lives wishing for more time and more memories with her, but we will forever be grateful that we got to know her, hold her, and love her for a time here on this earth. Stevie’s impact and legacy will be carried with us always, in our hearts, in every precious memory, and in the glimpses of her we know we’ll forever see in her big brother.
Our sweet Stevie Kate, what a gift it was to know you. What an honor it is to be your mama and daddy. You were loved every second of your life, and you will be loved every second of ours until we see you again. Her sweet and sassy spirit will never ever be forgotten. A celebration of life for Stevie will be held for family and close friends.
