Thelma Modine Griffin

CLAXTON: Modine Griffin, 81, was truly blessed. She was born on November 22, 1933 and departed this life on July 7, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents W.R. and Martha Johns and her husband of 40 years, Troy Griffin, sister, Pauline Jones two brothers Bub Johns and Edgar Johns.
In December 1950, Modine married the joy of her life, Troy Griffin. She was a homemaker and loved to cook and enjoyed playing card games and word puzzles. Family and friends were her passion and delight. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor.
SURVIORS: Her children and their spouses, Gayle (Mike) Selestok, Troy (Patty) Griffin, Michael (Deb) Griffin, Robert (Debbie) Griffin, Jeffery (Alicia) Griffin, Mark (Tina) Griffin, Tammie (Arturo) Rodriguez, 11 loving grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, step mother, Lydia Johns, brothers, Bobby Johns, Ion Johns, Larry Johns, sisters, Shirley White, Brenda Johns, Ginger Chaffin, several nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: Saturday, July, 11, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Mellie NeSmith funeral Home.
FUNERAL: Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home Chapel.
BURIAL: Brewton Cemetery.
