CLAXTON: William Leon Jones, aged 83, of Tattnall County, Georgia, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2024 at Meadows Park Health and Rehabilitation in Vidalia, Georgia.
Born on October 28, 1940, Leon was a lifelong resident of Georgia where he embraced the great outdoors through farming, hunting, and fishing in the local rivers and ponds. Known for his love of storytelling, Leon had a gift for capturing the attention of anyone willing to listen, sharing tales of the old days with a candidness that was uniquely his.
A devoted family man, Leon cherished his beloved wife, Emily, and adored his daughter, Jennifer. In his later years, he took immense pride in his role as a grandpa to Reagan Lynn, a title he held dear above all others. His affection for his chihuahuas reflected his deep love for animals.
Leon was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Emily Cowart Jones; parents, Beatrice Jenkins Collins and Irvin Jones; and his siblings, Wayne Collins and Elmeda Futrill.
He leaves behind a devoted family, including his daughter, Jennifer Price (Clayton) of Claxton, GA; granddaughter, Reagan Lynn Price, of Claxton, GA; siblings Dee Sheffield of Savannah, GA, Michael Collins of Bluffton, South Carolina, step-sister Joan West of Metter, GA; and close family friends Sadie Cook (Tony) of Tallahassee, Florida, Jeffrey Wiggins of Claxton, GA, and Grey Lynn (Karen) of Claxton, GA, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
His presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him, leaving a void filled with memories of his stories, laughter, and unwavering honesty.
Leon's legacy will live on through the stories he told, the wisdom he imparted, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His life was as rich and vibrant as the outdoors he so dearly loved.

FUNERAL: Graveside, Saturday, June 22, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Anderson Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
BURIAL: Anderson Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
HONORARY PALLBEARERS: Penny Sikes and Affinis Hospice, staff of Meadows Park Health and Rehabilitation.
